Add a splash of tropical drama to your home with Tillandsia dyeriana, one of the most striking and unusual air-plants in the bromeliad family. Known for its vivid orange flower spike and smooth green foliage, this rare species thrives without soil and brings instant sculptural impact to shelves, desks, and terrariums. A must-have for air-plant collectors and anyone wanting a low-maintenance statement piece, Tillandsia dyeriana is easy to care for, beautifully architectural, and perfectly sized for small spaces.
Plant Care
Light: Bright indirect light to semi-shade. Too much sun, and you risk scorching the poor plant.
Watering: Water when the top 20% has dried out in summer and in winter water when the top 50% of soil has dried out. If keeping out of soil, mist every few days. This species is sensitive to tap water, so filtered or rainwater is best.
Temperature: 15-32°C is an ideal range for these plants, and don't let this beauty go below 12°C
Potting: This plant is an epiphyte (grows on other plants) in the wild. We recommend a chunky well draining mix to mimic its natural habitat. Our Airy Aroid mix should do the trick, or you could even mount this plant to a piece of driftwood or cork to showcase it in its natural element. Just be sure to be mindful to give it a bit more water if you decide to mount your plant.
Hot tips: Humidity will really keep this plant happy. Great for a terrarium, bathroom or grouped amongst other plant friends.
Pet Friendly: yes
