Successful cultivation of the hybrid Anthurium forgetii x Anthurium giganteum verde requires attention to the cultural needs of its parent species. Here are some essential cultural tips to ensure its thriving growth:
- Light: Bright, indirect light. No direct sun - it burns the leaves.
- Temperature: Keep warm, 20-28°C during day, 18-22°C at night. Don't let it get below 15°C.
- Humidity: Needs high humidity (60-80%). Use a humidifier, water tray, or terrarium.
- Watering: Keep soil moist but not soaked. Let top dry slightly between waterings. Water less in winter.
Additional Notes:
- It has a compact growth habit with leaves emerging from a central rosette.
- The leaves are heart-shaped and may exhibit a mix of velvety texture (from Anthurium forgetii) and large, dramatic size (from Anthurium giganteum verde), with deep green coloration and prominent veining.
- Potting: It can be grown in pots with a well-draining mix, such as a combination of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot.
