🌱 How to Grow:
- Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or direct sow outdoors in spring after frost danger has passed.
- Plant seeds ¼ inch deep, spacing them about 18-24 inches apart for proper growth.
- Soil: Prefers rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.0).
- USDA Zones: 4-9, a hardy perennial that will return year after year.
- Best Time to Plant: Spring, once the soil has warmed.
- Harvest: 90-120 days for full plant growth; leaves and stems can be harvested regularly, and seeds in late summer.
☀️ Plant Care:
- Full sun to partial shade (4-6 hours of sunlight daily) for optimal growth.
- Water regularly, keeping the soil moist, especially in dry conditions.
- Fertilize with compost or organic fertilizers to promote healthy growth.
- Prune regularly to maintain plant shape and prevent overgrowth.
- Protect from extreme cold in winter by mulching around the base.
🌿 Perfect for adding a unique, fresh flavor to dishes and a beautiful addition to herb gardens, Lovage is easy to grow and requires minimal maintenance!
