A sophisticated hybrid combining the compact charm of T. ionantha with the bold presence of T. mitlaensis, Tillandsia 'Bonjour' offers the perfect blend of grace and durability. Tillandsia 'Bonjour' is a strong hybrid with thick, succulent leaves and straight lines. Great as a mounted plant at the top of a decorative item.
Parentage: Tillandsia ionantha × Tillandsia mitlaensis
Key features:
- Robust, succulent-like leaves
- Graceful, architectural form
- Silvery green coloration
- Emerging pink inflorescence
- Strong growing habit inherited from both parents
'Bonjour' demonstrates exceptional form—elegant, arching leaves radiate from a sturdy base in perfect symmetry. Each leaf exhibits a pleasing gradient from pale green to subtle silver, thanks to its protective layer of trichomes. A hint of pink at the center suggests an emerging bloom, adding a touch of romance to its otherwise architectural presence.
Collector's note: This hybrid represents thoughtful breeding, combining the best traits of its parents to create a plant that's both beautiful and resilient. Its thick leaves store water efficiently, making it more forgiving than many other airplants.
Care tips: Position in bright, indirect light. Water thoroughly twice weekly, allowing to dry completely between waterings. Higher humidity encourages optimal growth but isn't crucial due to its succulent nature.
Ideal for:
- Modern minimalist spaces
- Office environments
- Vertical garden designs
- Beginning collectors
Display recommendation: Mount 'Bonjour' vertically on a piece of light-colored wood or stone to highlight its striking form and perfect symmetry.
Add a touch of sophistication to your space with T. 'Bonjour'—where resilience meets refined beauty in one exceptional airplant.
