Iconic Red Winter‑Color Conebush

Leucadendron ‘Safari Sunset’ is one of the most iconic and widely planted leucadendrons, prized for its spectacular deep red bracts, long straight stems, and exceptional year‑round garden value. This vigorous evergreen shrub develops rich burgundy‑red foliage and cones from late summer through winter, fading through crimson and bronze tones as the season progresses. Its dramatic color display and upright habit make it a cornerstone plant in Mediterranean and floristry‑driven landscapes.

Perfectly suited to Leucadendron collections, ‘Safari Sunset’ thrives in full sun with excellent drainage and low water once established. It is world‑renowned for cut‑flower production thanks to its long‑lasting stems, while also excelling as a bold specimen shrub, screen, or hedge in coastal, dry‑summer, and water‑wise gardens.

High quality product.
Warmth? I’m not sure what that means. I make a simple dish out of these, some milk, butter and salt and pepper—then I “warm” it up. They’re a little pricey but the quality and taste/flavor is great. I would definitely buy them again.

Good and can be used in many dishes.
These are pretty good mussels they have not been smoked or anything added to it but mussels, water and salt. Since they are packed like that, you can use them in a variety of dishes. I would buy them again but only when they're on sale because they are pricey.

Meaty and flavorful
I ate these straight from the tin at room temperature, sometimes sopping up the extra liquid with decent bread. I purchased these because I wanted to try an alternative to the King Oscar. I've tried a couple different kinds of mackerel over the years, and while the King Oscar has been the best I find their olive oil varieties to be a bit acrid. Not so with these Otter Kingdom fillets. Theses are actual fillets, so they are larger and meatier, and in my experience they have a looser grain than the mackerel I'm used to. They are high-quality, so I'm not detecting any bones and there's no formaldehyde-flavor, no imperfections in the cut. The oil is quite thin/watery and fairly small in volume. This isn't an issue for me, if anything I'd say it's welcome as it doesn't overpower the fish. These make a great compliment to my tinned fish rotation, which includes tuna, squid/octopus, sardines, cod liver, oysters, and sometimes sprats, salmon, and trout. The price is better than King Oscar, so I can have it more regularly without feeling like I'm being immoderate. Would recommend.
