Introducing the breathtaking Tillandsia Samantha, an award-winning hybrid of T. mooreana X kalmbacheri! This extraordinary plant has garnered accolades, including being nominated as a finalist for 'Plant of the Year' at the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show in 2012 and winning the FloraHolland Glass Tulip in 2013. In 2017, it clinched the titles of Most Unusual Plant Specimen and Favorite New Flowering Plant at the Tropical Plant International Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Prepare to be captivated by this absolute stunner! Its broad, curly and cascading green foliage is one day complimented by a stunningly unique, multi-bracted and long-lasting inflorescence. Colors vary from fuchsia to lime green to neon pink depending on the light levels. This sought-after beauty can grow up to a striking 18 inches across, making it a must-have for collectors.
While photos with blooms are for reference, rest assured that your plant will be shipped green, though we strive to send it with a blush or bloom when available. Keep in mind that Tillandsia Samantha is extremely rare in cultivation.
This award-winning hybrid thrives when grown bare root but is also one of the few tillandsias that does take well to planting in a well-draining substrate. Its delicate leaves appreciate higher humidity levels and frequent watering. Please note that due to its delicate nature, it may require some extra time to acclimate and open, but the wait is undoubtedly worth it for this botanical masterpiece!
