Anthurium Veitchii "King" is one of the most iconic and majestic species in the Anthurium family, admired for its dramatically elongated and corrugated leaves. Native to Colombia, this species is often referred to as the “King Anthurium” due to its regal appearance and impressive foliage size, making it a centerpiece in any rare plant collection.
Characteristics of Anthurium Veitchii "King"
-
Leaves: The leaves are long, pendulous, and deeply corrugated, creating a rippled texture that gives them a striking and architectural look. Mature leaves can reach up to 1.5–2 meters in length, making them among the largest in the Anthurium genus.
-
Color: The foliage emerges light green and matures into a rich, glossy deep green with pronounced ribbing that enhances its sculptural form.
-
Flower: Produces a spathe and spadix typical of Anthuriums, but it is primarily grown for its extraordinary foliage rather than its blooms.
-
Plant Height: With proper care and conditions, Anthurium Veitchii "King" can grow into a large, commanding specimen suitable for greenhouses, conservatories, or as a tropical statement indoors.
