Common Name: Monte Carlo
Micranthemum ‘Monte Carlo’ is here to give your aquarium that lush, velvety rolling-hill look you’ve been dreaming of. With its tiny, round leaves and bright green color, it pops beautifully against neutral substrates and instantly makes your layout look way more put‑together than you probably felt while planting it. If you’ve ever struggled to grow notoriously finicky Dwarf Baby Tears (HC), Monte Carlo is the friendlier, more forgiving alternative you’ve been looking for. It spreads out into a thick, uniform mat, giving you maximum aquascaping rewards without the heartbreak.
Key Features & Benefits
- Form a thick, dense carpet of round, bright green leaves that instantly elevates your aquarium's foreground.
- Enjoy a more forgiving growing experience compared to similar demanding carpeting plants like Dwarf Baby Tears.
- Grow a highly versatile plant that handles submersed tank life perfectly but also thrives emersed in a dry start setup or Wabi Kusa.
Care
- Provide high lighting and steady CO2 injection to encourage tight, low horizontal growth.
- Keep an eye out for thin, vertically stretched stalks, which are a clear sign your plant is reaching out for more light.
- Check your nutrients if leaves look thin or yellow, as these are classic signs of a lack of CO2 or a nutritional deficiency.
- Trim regularly once the plant takes off under proper conditions, as it can grow quickly and will need haircuts to stay neat.
