Plastno's biodegradable cellulose sponge is a plant-based, plastic-free pop-up, sold in a 3-pack. Each sponge ships flat and compact, then expands the moment it hits water. Soft, ultra-absorbent, and free of the microplastics that conventional foam sponges shed in every wash.
The Soak Sponge replaces polyurethane and polyester foam sponges with plant-based cellulose for everyday kitchen cleanup. Use it on dishes, counters, sinks, glassware, and most hard surfaces. Gentle on non-stick cookware and most kitchen finishes, durable enough for daily use.
Rinse thoroughly and let it air-dry between uses. Boil it or run it through the dishwasher on the top rack once a week to sanitize. Each sponge lasts 2 to 6 months of daily use, and when it's worn out, it biodegrades in soil or a backyard compost pile with no plastic residue.
Key features:
- 3 pop-up cellulose sponges per pack
- Pop-up format, ships flat and expands in water
- 1/5 the shelf space of a regular foam sponge
- Dishwasher-safe (top rack) and boilable to sanitize
- 2 to 6 month lifespan with daily use
- Biodegradable in soil or backyard compost
- No microplastics, no polyurethane foam, no polyester
Best for:
- Daily dish-washing and counter wipe-downs
- Plastic-free, zero waste kitchens
- Replacing microplastic-shedding foam sponges
- Renters and small kitchens (compact storage)
- Gifts for eco-minded friends and family
- Anyone reducing plastic across their full cleaning routine
