3/8" minus Natural Cascade Mountain Volcanic Red Lava rock for use in soil mixes for Bonsai, Succulents, Cactus & soil mixes for specialty nursery plants. 

This listing is for anyone wanting to screen their own lava to the size they want. This lava is unscreened as it comes from the quarry and contains all sizes from 3/8 inch to powder and is more economical than our hand screened lava products. Lava is primarily red/ dark grey in color.

Mix is composed of and can be screened to approx.: 
22%   3/8"-1/4" size lava

25%   1/4"- 1/32" size lava

23%   1/32"- 1/120" size lava

30%  powder fines

If you are concerned about the size and would like to order samples, you can do so for the cost of shipping. If you decide to order 6 gallons or more, the freight cost of the samples will be reimbursed.

Available in 15 Oz., 10 Cups, 5 Quarts, 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 gallon volumes.

15 Ounce,10 cup, and 5 quarts, are shipped USPS.  

3 Gallon quantities are shipped USPS or UPS.

6, 12, 18 and 24 gallons are shipped UPS.    

- Our 10-cup box will fill 1.33 trade gallon containers. 

- Our 5 Quart box will fill 2.5 trade gallon containers.

- Our 3 Gallon box will fill 6 trade gallon containers.

- Our 6 Gallon box will fill 12 trade gallon containers.

-  Our 12 Gallon (2 boxes) will fill 24 trade gallon containers.

- Our 18 Gallon (3 boxes) will fill 36 trade gallon containers.

- Our 24 Gallon (4 boxes) will fill 48 trade gallon containers.  

Our lava is hand packed and bagged with a reusable tie for easy storage after you have used part of the bag. If your lava dries before using, moisten it to keep dust from forming. Dust from any rock or potting soil product should not be inhaled and can be irritating for people with sensitive lungs.

The hotplate itself gets hot enough on its highest setting where it would burn your finger if you left it one there for more then a couple seconds. However when it come to what mug you can use to transfer that heat to your drink, this WILL NOT work with just any old ceramic, metal or glass mugs. You absolutely need to have a perfectly flat bottom on it. If the center of the bottom of the mug does not make direct contact with the very center of the warmer, it will not transfer heat. So straight way plan of spending another $15 to $20. Amazon has some available with good reviews all be it not a very big selection. I'm giving this 4 stars because the description needs to be very clear about this and its not.
