Extra Large Sphere Planter – Ideal for Trees, Shrubs & Sculptural Greenery

Add bold, sculptural impact to your outdoor or indoor space with this 70cm concrete sphere planter from the Orbello range – a distinctive, heavy-duty piece crafted for dramatic planting schemes and standout styling.

The Orbello 70cm extra large planter delivers a strong visual presence with its symmetrical globe shape and natural, stone-like texture. Whether anchoring a courtyard, flanking an entrance, or styling a modern garden, it provides both statement aesthetics and reliable planting performance.

  • 207L capacity – spacious enough for small trees, structural shrubs, or creative mixed planting; deep volume supports healthy root growth and long-term success
  • 70cm height × 70cm width – with a generous 57cm mouth opening and 3cm rim, the scale is ideal for both standalone use or as part of a group
  • Premium pigmented cement stone – colour is integrated throughout the material, not surface-painted, eliminating risk of peeling or fading
  • Indoor & outdoor ready – fully sealed interior and UV- and frost-resistant construction make this pot suitable for all-season use
  • Natural matte texture – each planter is hand-poured and finished for unique character, with subtle pitting and tonal variation
  • Pre-drilled drainage – prevents water build-up and root rot for better plant health
  • Heavy-duty build – weighs 38kg and is reinforced with steel for long-term stability in exposed or high-traffic areas
  • Flat, stable base – designed to sit securely on patios, paving, or floors without the need for additional anchoring

Tip: Due to its size and weight, position the Orbello 70cm planter in place before filling with soil. We recommend two people or a dolly for safe handling.

Why Choose the Orbello Planter?

  • Striking sphere design – the perfectly rounded shape offers a clean, sculptural focal point for both minimalist and naturalistic landscapes
  • Durable 207L capacity – deep soil volume accommodates long-rooted plants and supports sustained growth for medium trees or lush mixed arrangements
  • Raw, hand-finished texture – every Orbello pot features subtle surface variation and natural pitting, adding depth and organic charm
  • Long-lasting colour integrity – Truffle is a neutral blend of taupe, beige, and soft brown tones designed to complement both soft and architectural planting styles
  • Reinforced structure – internally strengthened with steel for added resistance to cracking, impact and movement
  • All-weather construction – frost-resistant, UV-safe and sealed inside, ideal for UK climates and year-round display
  • Sustainable craftsmanship – each planter is individually made by artisans using low-waste methods and durable materials that reduce reliance on plastic alternatives
  • Balanced form and function – heavy enough to stay put in high-traffic areas, light enough to reposition before planting

Which Came First?
Format: Hardcover
Of course this won the Newberry award. From the first word, it reminded me of Donna Barba Higuera's The Last Cuentista. A plot so different and imaginative that you wonder how anyone could have thought of it and then carried it out. It's a story of a young boy who is trying to take care of the single mother who seems unable to take care of the family, through no fault of her own. It's a sci-fi fantasy. And it's a story of taking care of each other. At the totally satisfying end I found myself wondering about the chicken and the egg. Thinking I may have to read this one again to see if I can figure it out.

Well-written, twisty novel for middle school children
Format: Kindle
This is Kelly’s second Newbery Medal, the first being for *Hello, Universe* in 2018. Both are well-written novels for middle-grade children and should have a lot of appeal for that age. It's the year 1999, early fall, an apartment complex in Delaware. 12-year-old Michael is worried that the Y2K bug will cause the collapse of civilization on January 1, 2000. He has been stealing cans of food to create an emergency stash under his bed. He has started a new school, and his only friends are the apartment complex maintenance man and his high-school-age after-school babysitter, Gibby. Michael’s father is dead, and his mother works long hours to make ends meet. One day a strange kid shows up in the complex, dressed in unusual clothing and asking odd questions like, “What year is this?” It doesn’t take an experienced science fiction reader to suspect that this kid, Ridge, is from the future. He is interested in observing late 20th Century American culture. But he also wants Michael and Gibby to help him figure out how to get back to the future without interfering with the past and thus changing his own timeline. The 1999 part of the story is interspersed with notes about the future and the panicked dialog of Ridge’s family as they try to investigate what happened to him. It probably doesn’t have many new ideas for adult readers, but it will be surprising and exciting for readers ages 12 and up

MUST READ!
Format: Hardcover
The First State of Being is set in 1999 during the uncertainty of Y2k. Michael Rosario doesn't have any friends, unless you count Mr. Mosley, the maintenance man in his apartment building, and his babysitter Gibby. Michael worries a lot about the future, his mom, and just about everything else. So when a mysterious teenager (Ridge) shows up near his apartment complex one day, and says he's from the future, Michael is determined to find out what's to become of the world when the year 2000 is here. Will Ridge be able to calm Michael's fears? Fans of A Rover's Story by Jasmine Warga will love this story about family, friendship, time travel, and facing one's fears. Erin Entrada Kelly's voice makes this novel a must read. It's amazing!

Even a Gilded Cage, Is still a Prison that Prevents Us From Flying
Format: Kindle
Three cheers to Lee Winter and narrator Chelsea Stephens! Lee, I love the entire full circle journey you share with us for MCs Sienna and Jasmine. The souls of each are like a chemical reaction in that each is a catalyst to each other. Jasmine ignites a chain reaction in Sienna that launches her into the world and 10 years later Sienna ignites a chain reaction in Jasmine that frees her from her Gilded Cage. Lee, what a wonder to behold, when we allow ourselves to fly!
