A Festive Favorite for the Holiday Season
The Schlumbergera Truncata, commonly known as the Thanksgiving Cactus, Christmas Cactus, or Crab Cactus, is a beloved winter-blooming houseplant with vibrant, exotic blooms and arching segmented stems. Native to the tropical forests of South America, this succulent thrives in moderate humidity and indirect light—perfect for brightening up your indoor space during the colder months.
Unlike traditional desert cacti, this tropical beauty prefers slightly moist soil (never soggy) and flourishes when placed in a hanging basket or on a shelf where its stems can naturally trail. With proper care, the Thanksgiving Cactus will reward you with spectacular blooms around November, and with a little luck, may even rebloom in February!
Thanks to its non-toxic nature, it's safe for pets, and its long lifespan often makes it a cherished family heirloom. Whether you're an experienced plant lover or a new indoor gardener, this holiday classic is a stunning and low-maintenance addition to any home.
