ESTUARIUM  

An old master and his painted estuary. Grey sky and water, dramatic light and carefully placed seagulls. The painting has had my attention for many years, and therefore calls for a project in which it plays a starring role.

Are we looking at the outlet to a river, or a river mouth that is flowing into to the sea? Do we still have estuaria and are there estuaries to find that are similar to this painted version of 1640? The coming period I will immerse myself in the phenomenon estuary, both old and new.

This initiative will be developed jointly with cineast Michiel Keller, and therefore result in  soundscape cinema, paintings, and perchance a mixture of both.
